The Ventura Writers' Block is a group of six local playwrights who meet regularly to inspire and badger one another to tell our stories. The group originated from a writing class, taught by Sindy McKay, and sponsored by a theater company named The Flying H. The class eventually evolved into an independent group called The Ventura Writers' Block. The group utilizes the backstage of the Santa Paula Theater Center for many of our public readings as well as full productions. Additionally, Block members have had work that was developed and produced within the group staged and produced via various independent theater festivals and the like. Details regarding those productions are listed in the individual biographies.
